Statement of Intent
When providing feedback to us and when asking for certain other services, you may be asked to submit personal information about yourself (e.g. name, address, and telephone number).
In addition, the Malta Resources Authority also collects web page download information and site usage information.
To the extent that any of the details supplied by you to us, together with such information as may be subsequently supplied by you in any manner, whether orally or in writing, constitutes personal data within the meaning of the Data Protection Act, you consent to the processing of such data for the purposes of the Malta Resources Authority, and consent to the disclosure of all or any such details and information to employees, associates or agents of the Malta Resources Authority for the following purposes:
- deal with licence applications,
- monitor compliance with the licence/permit/registration conditions,
- process renewals,
- prevent and investigate breaches of regulations,
- maintain the relevant registers,
- deal with complaints, consultations and to provide literature.
We may disclose personal data to our consultants, agents and representatives who may be carrying out the above services on our behalf, in addition to other public bodies and other organisations for consultation on environmental issues.
Your attention is drawn to the provisions of the Freedom of Access to Information on the Environment Regulations (LN 217/2001).
We do not sell personal information to any third parties unless that information is public register information. We generally do not share personal information with any third parties other than those mentioned above unless they agree to protect the privacy of personal information in the same manner we do or we are required by law to disclose such information.
We will only hold personal data on our systems for a strictly limited period of time. In most cases, the time period will be set as a matter of internal policy and will be the minimum necessary for our use.
Access to your Personal Information
You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you and to have any inaccuracies in that personal information corrected. Direct Marketing
From time to time, we may offer you the opportunity to participate in the consultation process being carried out by the Authority. We may wish to provide you with details of other services or literature available from the Malta Resources Authority which may be of interest to you.
Security of Personal Information
We share the general concern over the safety and security of personal information on the Internet and have implemented procedures to promote the safety and security of information we collect online. We have implemented industry standard controls to try to ensure confidentiality; however, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We cannot therefore guarantee that personal information will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this Privacy Policy.
